A new unofficial project allows users to play the classic PlayStation 2 title Resident Evil Outbreak directly through a web browser. This release is entirely free and requires no software downloads to access the game.
The adaptation utilizes AI tools to decompile the original code, which was first released between 2003 and 2004. This effort addresses long-standing difficulties in accessing the game without original hardware or resorting to piracy.
Players can experience five original scenarios alongside five additional ones, choosing from eight characters with unique abilities. The project supports solo play with AI companions or online cooperative sessions for up to four participants via private rooms or random matchmaking.
This project maintains no affiliation with Capcom. Developers recommend enabling hardware acceleration in browsers for optimal performance. Currently, the private servers are experiencing traffic issues due to high player volume.
