Developer S-Game is preparing for the launch of Phantom Blade Zero, a project developed over approximately 4 years with a budget of 50 million euros. The title is positioned to challenge current discussions regarding the financial viability of Western blockbusters.
The game features a design focused on over 50 bosses and excludes enemy respawning. It is scheduled for release on October 29 for PS5 and PC, with pricing set at 59,99€ on Steam and 69,99€ on the PS Store.
Alinea Analytics reports that the game has already secured 500,000 units in Steam pre-orders, generating approximately 30 million euros. After accounting for Valve's commission, S-Game retains roughly 23 million euros, nearly half of the total production budget, excluding PS5 figures.
According to Alinea Analytics, these Steam pre-order figures surpass those of recent Western releases such as Gears of War: E-Day and Control Resonant. The title, which will be available exclusively in digital format, aims to appeal to Western audiences while benefiting from significant support from Chinese players.
