Metro 2033 Redux and Last Light Redux have received a surprise update on PC that introduces NVIDIA's DLSS 5 technology. This development, which was not mentioned in official patch notes, was discovered by Renan Maniero and subsequently verified by TweakTown.
The technology appears in graphical settings as DLSS-NR, standing for neural rendering. Users can toggle this feature to adjust image quality, specifically targeting improvements in lighting and more realistic facial rendering. Renan Maniero has provided video evidence demonstrating palpable graphical improvements.
This update serves as a precursor to the release of Metro 2039, scheduled for February of next year. The inclusion of DLSS 5 in these titles precedes its expected arrival in other games like Hogwarts Legacy and Where Windws Meet, which NVIDIA previously confirmed for November.
Beyond DLSS 5, the recent next-gen patch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series includes 4K texture support, refined animations, sound enhancements, and DualSense adaptive trigger support. PC versions also received an optimized graphics mode for the ROG XBOX Ally.
