On October 23, 2026, Death Kumiai and Flashlight Games released a demo for the high-humidity, heavy-emotion RPG titled 'The Hero Party Has Been Annihilated' on Steam. Players take the role of a survivor from a rescue team searching for a missing hero party within a dungeon.
The party members are found broken: a hero who lost their voice, a mage without magic, a warrior missing their body, and a priest who lost something else. Players must choose one partner from these four to escape the dungeon together, confronting their secrets and connections.
Combat utilizes turn-based card mechanics where weapon and item usage is limited. Using the final charge of an item significantly boosts its effect, and doing so to break an enemy's stance triggers a 'Fatal Blow' to steal their equipment. Players can also use 'curses' generated by breaking items to negate traps or unfavorable outcomes.
The demo, which features improvements to balance, UI, and music since the February 2026 Steam Next Fest, allows players to reach the first boss. Save data can be carried over to the full version, which is scheduled for release on November 10, 2026, alongside an original soundtrack.
