Key information

A month-long tournament hosted by PC Gamer to identify the greatest real-time strategy unit of all time has reached its final stage. Starting with a field of 16 contenders, public voting has narrowed the competition down to the final two units: the Mammoth Tank from Command and Conquer: Red Alert and the Priest.

The path to the final saw the Mammoth Tank defeat the Pride of Hiigara from Homeworld 2 with 60% of the vote. Meanwhile, the Priest secured its spot by defeating the Super Star Destroyer with 70% of the vote, a result that News Writer Joshua Wolens and Weekend Editor Jody Macgregor noted with varying degrees of skepticism and humor.

The Mammoth Tank is characterized by its high cost and slow movement speed, yet it is praised by Wolens for its perceived power within the Soviet campaign. Conversely, the Priest is humorously associated with its iconic "wololo" ability, which Macgregor jokingly credits for its success in the tournament.

Voting for the final matchup between the Mammoth Tank and the Priest remains open until the end of Wednesday (BST). The publication plans to announce the winner of this contest next week.
