Novemtails and Assemble Entertainment released the slow-life survival simulation game Under Canopies into Steam Early Access on October 23, 2026. The title is currently priced at 1500 yen, with a launch discount available for a limited time.
The game offers a first-person experience focused on peaceful forest living, explicitly removing combat and hostile survival elements. Players manage basic needs like hunger and thirst while building log cabins, crafting furniture, farming, and raising animals such as sheep and chickens.
Exploration includes a photography mechanic for documenting wildlife in an album. Users can feed animals to build trust, and the game features over 30 cooking recipes alongside beekeeping activities to enhance the player's homestead.
Based on feedback from the Steam Next Fest, the developers improved the tutorial, user interface, and inventory systems for this release. The team currently plans to transition out of Early Access with a full launch in 2027.
