Mahalagang impormasyon

Capcom recently confirmed a major cyberattack targeting its Capcom ID service, resulting in the unauthorized access of data belonging to over 11.7 million users globally. The breach was first detected on Monday, October 19, 2026, prompting the company to deploy emergency measures and establish an internal task force to audit its systems.

The incident involved the extraction of user email addresses and IP addresses. While the company confirmed that 196 profiles required forced password resets, it stated that the vast majority of user passwords remained secure. Furthermore, Capcom clarified that no banking information or credit card numbers were compromised, as such sensitive data is not stored on the affected servers.

The publisher warned that the exposure of email and IP data leaves the community vulnerable to sophisticated phishing campaigns. Attackers may attempt to impersonate official support channels to solicit login credentials. Capcom advises users to ignore any suspicious emails requesting account information and to access their profiles only by manually entering the official URL into a web browser.

Following the discovery, Capcom notified the Osaka police and the Japanese Personal Information Protection Commission. The company confirmed that the vulnerability has been patched and emphasized that the breach does not impact gameplay servers or multiplayer functionality for titles such as Resident Evil or Monster Hunter.
