Blizzard has announced the upcoming Season 16 for Diablo 4, featuring a significant overhaul to the endgame system known as War Plans. This update, currently entering a public test realm phase, aims to provide more structure to endgame progression following the success of previous seasonal content.
The new meta-progression system introduces War Plan Tactics and Tyrael's Boons. War Plan Tactics allow players to invest points into specific activities like Helltides or The Pit to influence future content offerings and rewards. Meanwhile, Tyrael's Boons provide four distinct trees offering various boosts, such as reduced crafting costs, experience gains, and specialized merchant options.
Players can respec Tyrael's Boons using gold at a cost of five million per point, while War Plan Tactics utilize a new currency called Marks of Wisdom. Additionally, the update introduces Horadric items, which modify Talisman set bonuses, and a challenging new boss encounter featuring both the Corrupted Reaper and the Fractured Reaper.
The update 3.3.0 PTR is scheduled to run from Tuesday October 27 at 10am PT until Tuesday November 3 at the same time. During this period, players can utilize a testing NPC to instantly boost character levels and acquire necessary gear or materials for evaluation.
