Publisher Hooded Horse and developer ShoulderByte have announced Drill Keeper, a strategy title blending roguelite, deck-building, and tower defense mechanics. A new trailer showcases updated visuals and introduces the Saprophyte hero faction.
Players command a dwarven expedition using a drill-shaped spaceship to explore destructible environments across the galaxy. Mining activities generate tremors that attract hostile creatures, forcing players to construct defensive towers to protect their vessel while gathering loot.
The gameplay loop involves fortifying mining bases and upgrading the drill between expeditions. Success requires strategic synergy through the combination of cards, artifacts, and runes to withstand waves of alien attacks before the abyss consumes the player.
Drill Keeper is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2027 on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Microsoft Store. The title will be available on PC Game Pass on day one and supports multiple languages, including English, Chinese, and several others.
