Konami has issued a formal warning to individuals involved in creating modified versions of its free-to-play title, eFootball. The company specifically targeted those engaged in reverse engineering, decompiling code, or using generative AI tools to manipulate the game's software and data.

The publisher stated that such activities violate its terms of use, which strictly prohibit copying or modifying software and programs. Konami emphasized that these restrictions apply even to projects intended for personal use, testing, or research purposes.

Konami warned that it will take strict measures against any identified infringements, which may include the suspension of user accounts. The company clarified that the existence of similar activities by other users does not grant permission for others to engage in these unauthorized practices.

These warnings may impact community-led projects attempting to recreate classic Pro Evolution Soccer experiences, such as those adding Master League features. eFootball is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, and mobile devices.
