Key information
Speculation regarding the development of Half-Life 3 has intensified following comments made by Valve composer Mike Morasky. During the recent GameSoundCon event, Morasky discussed technical aspects of various projects, explicitly referencing a title referred to as HLX.
While discussing high dynamic range (HDR) technology, Morasky stated that Deadlock and HLX each utilize their own versions of the system. These specific initials have historically been linked to the Half-Life franchise within Valve's internal project codes.
Morasky previously attempted to mention HLX during a podcast appearance nearly one year ago, though he quickly retracted the statement by claiming he intended to say Alyx. This latest mention has fueled renewed interest among fans of the series.
Valve has not provided an official confirmation regarding the status of a new Half-Life entry. Whether this recent disclosure was an intentional reveal or an accidental slip remains uncertain, leaving the project's formal existence unverified by the company.
