Hanuman Games, the developer behind the upcoming adventure title Toto and the Magical Journey, recently shared a touching story involving a player from Chile named Fernanda. After discovering the game, Fernanda reached out to the team to explain that the protagonist, a dog named Toto, bears a striking resemblance to her late dog, Vicente, who passed away from old age on September 27.
In the game, players control Toto, a brave and loyal dog who is transported to a magical world by a mysterious tornado. The narrative follows Toto's journey as he attempts to return to his owner, Dorothy, while encountering various characters and themes of friendship and discovery.
Deeply moved by Fernanda's message, the development team decided to add a memorial for Vicente in the game's end credits with her permission. The developers noted that while they initially set out to create a simple story about a dog trying to get home, they have learned that their work can hold much deeper significance for players.
Toto and the Magical Journey is currently scheduled for release on Steam in the fourth quarter of 2026. According to the store page, the title will include support for the Japanese language.
