Key information
Publisher HYPE GAME LLC and developer BELOrusb have unveiled The Oink, an existential horror title currently listed on Steam. The game is set in 2067, a future defined by overpopulation and severe food shortages where genuine meat has become a luxury item.
Players assume the role of a contractor for O Inc, a corporation that developed cloning technology for livestock. Daily gameplay involves responding to alarms, receiving instructions via public telephones, and processing a specific quota of pigs within a scenic forest setting.
The work environment includes unsettling elements, such as containers stocked with knives and firearms that seem excessive for standard slaughter. Players must also adhere to strange protocols, including orders to freeze and wait if they encounter certain entities during their shifts.
Beyond the manual labor, players can explore the facility to investigate mysterious structures. This exploration reveals hidden truths, fostering suspicion toward the corporation and prompting existential questions regarding the nature of free will.
The Oink is scheduled for release on PC in the fourth quarter of 2027. A demo titled The Oink: Prelude is expected to arrive in October 2026. The game does not currently support the Japanese language.
