Key information
PlayStation has officially released its download rankings for the PlayStation Store covering September 2026. The report highlights top-performing titles across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR2, and free-to-play categories, while also providing data for the United States and Canada regions.
On the PlayStation 5, the action title "Onimusha Way of the Sword" secured the top spot, featuring Miyamoto Musashi as the protagonist. It was followed by the remastered "Torneko no Daiboken: Fushigi no Dungeon" in second place and the sports simulation "EA SPORTS FC 27" in third, which introduces a new social football space called "The Grounds."
The PlayStation 4 charts were led by "Monster Hunter: World," with "Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age" taking second and "Resident Evil 6" placing third. Meanwhile, "Cities: VR – Enhanced Edition" topped the PlayStation VR2 list, and the open-world monster collection RPG "Animo" claimed the number one position among free-to-play titles.
These rankings are based on total sales volume on the PlayStation Store. The data excludes upgrades from PlayStation VR versions and specific bundles. For titles with multiple editions, the figures represent the combined total of all versions sold during the month.
