Key information
Bethesda Game Studios creative director Jonathan Rush recently discussed the future of Fallout 76, highlighting upcoming plans for the long-running online title. While no new real-world events are currently scheduled for Japan, the company plans to host a massive celebration in Washington D.C. in 2027 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Fallout series.
Development efforts for Fallout 76 will continue to prioritize social interaction and building mechanics. Rush noted that the team is exploring ways to increase C.A.M.P. capacity and introduce a transform gizmo to allow for vertical rotation of building parts. These features aim to provide players with greater creative freedom, building upon the existing C.A.M.P. Revamp update.
Regarding combat, Rush confirmed that the team is planning to add new, more challenging raids with rewarding loot. While the developers are discussing potential balance adjustments for existing raids, the primary focus remains on introducing entirely new raid content. Further details on these upcoming additions are expected to be shared in the near future.
The studio also intends to continue supporting players who missed past seasonal items. Following the September 16 The Slasher update, which introduced legacy seasons, Bethesda plans to keep offering past content through gold bullion merchants or re-releases. Additionally, upcoming updates will improve visual fidelity in shelters by correcting shadow rendering.
