Square Enix announced that the cumulative sales for Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven have exceeded one million units. This milestone marks the first time a title in the series has reached this figure in 29 years, following the 1997 release of SaGa Frontier.
This title is a full 3D remake of the 1993 original, featuring full voice acting for event scenes. It retains signature series mechanics like the glimmer system and formations while introducing new elements such as coordinated attacks and a timeline-based battle system.
The game has received strong user reception, maintaining a "Very Positive" status on Steam with 93% approval from approximately 4000 reviews. On the PlayStation Store, it holds a rating of 4.73 out of 5 stars.
Currently available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, PS4, and PC, the game precedes the upcoming release of Romancing SaGa 3: Destiny United. That sequel is scheduled to launch on February 16, 2027, for multiple platforms including Xbox Series X|S.
