CD Projekt Red has confirmed that development is underway for the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. As the studio prepares for this upcoming project, they have shared insights into their recruitment strategy during a recent livestream event.
Game Director Pawel Sasko revealed that a substantial number of current employees at the studio previously worked as game modders. According to Sasko, this background is particularly prevalent within their development team, with half of the current Quest department consisting of former modders.
Sasko explained that modding serves as a gateway for players to transition into professional game development. By engaging in modding, individuals gain practical experience in understanding how games are constructed and built, which provides a valuable foundation for their future careers in the industry.
This hiring trend aligns with the studio's ongoing support for modding communities and the distribution of user-created content. The company continues to focus on these efforts as they remain busy with the development of the Cyberpunk sequel.
