Actor Debra Wilson, known for her extensive work in over 100 games, recently shared her experience working on Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. While Wilson has frequently had her likeness scanned for 3A titles, she noted that the production process for this project differed significantly from her previous roles.

Wilson described Kojima's directing style as reminiscent of a stage play. Unlike standard motion capture sessions that break scenes into short segments, Kojima prefers to film continuous sequences lasting 7 to 10 minutes. This approach allows actors to maintain their character's emotional flow throughout the entire scene rather than focusing on fragmented dialogue or movement.

The actor highlighted the challenges of this method, noting that all her scenes were completed in a single day with limited preparation. Because Kojima does not speak English, communication relied on a translator. Wilson spent an hour with the director to grasp the complex world of the game, which she found essential for focusing on her performance as the psychic midwife doctor.

Despite the unconventional workflow, Wilson praised Kojima as an artist who knows exactly what he wants. Although she has expressed frustration in the past regarding the repetitive use of her likeness in games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, she found the experience on Death Stranding 2 to be one of her most memorable performances.
