Key information
Shift Up CEO Hyung-Tae Kim has been recognized as one of the five most influential game developers of the year by the Chinese social media platform Weibo. This honor was awarded during the annual Weibo V Influence Summit, which highlights significant figures across various creative and entertainment sectors.
Kim shares this distinction with other notable industry figures, including Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi, Game Science CEO Feng Ji, and S-Game CEO Liang Qiwei.
Expressing his gratitude, Kim stated that he felt honored to be recognized alongside colleagues he deeply respects. He attributed the achievement to the support of Chinese fans of Stellar Blade, promising to focus on creating even better games in the future.
Kim is currently serving as the general director for the upcoming title Stellar Blade: Blood Rain. This sequel will feature a new protagonist named EVE, who utilizes gauntlets for melee combat, marking a shift from the sword-based mechanics of the previous entry. Shift Up will handle both development and publishing for this project.
