Key information
Nintendo has announced that three distinct Game Boy titles are joining the Nintendo Switch Online library. The upcoming additions include the action-puzzle game Moguranya, the pinball title Pinball: 66 Hiki no Wani Daikoushin, and the side-scrolling action game Phantasm.
Moguranya, produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and released in 1996, tasks players with navigating over 200 stages by moving between ground and underground layers. Players use black spheres to defeat enemies and destroy walls. Meanwhile, Phantasm features a unique mechanic where the protagonist, having been shot, returns as a spirit to possess enemies to rescue a kidnapped lover.
Pinball: 66 Hiki no Wani Daikoushin, originally released by HAL Laboratory in 1989, is noted for its high-quality programming. This technical foundation influenced later titles such as Kirby's Pinball Land and Pokémon Pinball. Regarding Moguranya, while the original cartridge supported a two-player VS mode, it remains unclear if this feature will be available in the new release.
These titles will be available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers at no additional cost. While the games are slated for the Game Boy Nintendo Classics lineup, an official release date has not yet been announced.
