Key information

Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a standalone version of ACE COMBAT ZERO on Steam. Previously, players who pre-ordered ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE could only access the port through the main game's launcher, which required installing the full 140GB ACE COMBAT 8 application.

The publisher previously apologized on October 1 for the inconvenience caused by these platform limitations and lack of clear communication. Following discussions with relevant parties, they announced on October 13 that a standalone release was planned, which has now been implemented via a dedicated store page.

This update significantly reduces storage requirements, as the standalone version of ACE COMBAT ZERO occupies only 3.2GB. While players can still launch the title through ACE COMBAT 8, the new individual application allows for faster access and independent installation.

Progress remains consistent across both versions, as save data is shared between the two applications. Players can utilize Steam Cloud to transfer progress between different PCs, and previously earned achievements will automatically unlock upon completing any mission with the relevant data.
