Capcom announced on October 22 that its online membership service, CAPCOM ID, suffered unauthorized third-party access. The company confirmed that personal information was leaked, though it emphasized that all game services remain unaffected and fully operational.

The breach resulted in the exposure of 11,774,247 email addresses and system-specific identifiers, including account creation dates and login history. Additionally, 43 accounts had personal details such as birth dates, gender, and nicknames compromised. Capcom confirmed that no credit card information was included in the leaked data.

While user-set passwords were not leaked, Capcom identified 196 accounts where passwords were changed illicitly. These specific accounts have since undergone password resets. The company initiated investigations and emergency countermeasures immediately after detecting suspicious activity on October 19, 2026.

Capcom has reported the incident to police and the Personal Information Protection Commission. Affected users are being contacted individually. The company warns that leaked email addresses could be used for phishing attempts and advises users to exercise caution regarding suspicious communications.
