Playmoth Games has officially launched The World's Shortest Horror Game, a title described as a miniature horror-comedy experience. The game is designed to be completed by pressing a single button, with the developer explicitly stating it is not a traditional, long-form horror adventure.
The gameplay mechanics are intentionally minimal, requiring players to sit down, wear headphones, and stare at a button. While specific content remains hidden to avoid spoilers, the experience features analog horror aesthetics, carefully timed sound design, and unpleasant surprises. The game concludes with an elaborate set of end credits.
The developer suggests the game is best suited for quick sessions, streaming reactions, or gifting to friends as a prank. The store page even provides instructions on how to share the game without spoiling the experience, encouraging users to simply tell friends they found a very short game.
Players can participate in an optional community credit system, allowing them to leave a public name or remain anonymous after finishing. The game is currently available on PC via Steam for 135 yen.
