Electronic Arts recently initiated a round of layoffs on October 21, cutting 400 roles across the company. These staff reductions were intended to establish a clearer roadmap for a more sustainable business model, but the cuts also impacted Full Circle, the studio currently developing the upcoming Skate title.
According to reports, many developers at Full Circle have departed the studio. Notable staff members who confirmed their exits on LinkedIn include artists Brendan Vermeltfoort and Will Granda, seasonal creative director John Epler, and senior designers Adam Martinazzi and David Milne.
The development process for the new Skate game has faced various challenges, including content seasons that were criticized for paywalls or limited additions. While Season 3 and Season 4 were noted for locking maps and areas behind paywalls, Season 5, which began on September 8, was described as a positive step forward featuring a large park.
Despite the recent staffing changes, the project continues to move forward with a planned release window of September 2025. The studio has previously focused on implementing new tricks, gear, and bug fixes to improve the experience for players.
