Aspyr Media has announced that Shrek 2 Remastered will launch on November 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Priced at 29,99 euros, this title serves as a modern update to the original 2004 action adventure game.
The remaster introduces several technical enhancements, including updated textures, a refreshed user interface, 4K resolution support, and modernized cinematics. Additionally, the game will feature a photo mode, a cheat mode, and support for up to 4 players through local, online, or hybrid cooperative play.
The PC version initially listed extreme hardware requirements on Steam, including a recommendation for an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, which has since been removed from the platform. While the Epic Games Store still lists these high-end specifications alongside a recommendation for 32 GB of RAM, these demands are considered nonsensical for a project of this nature.
The unusual hardware listings are likely an error on the part of developer Aspyr Media. Despite the technical confusion surrounding the PC requirements, the game remains scheduled for its upcoming release across all announced platforms.
