Capcom officially announced on October 22 that its online membership service, Capcom ID, suffered a security breach by a third party. The developer detected unauthorized access attempts on October 19 and immediately initiated emergency response measures and investigations.

The investigation confirmed that 11,774,247 accounts had data exposed, including email addresses, account creation dates, login history, and client IP addresses. Additionally, 43 accounts faced more severe exposure involving birth dates, gender, country, and nicknames, while 196 accounts experienced unauthorized password changes.

Capcom confirmed that all affected passwords were reset. The company explicitly stated that no credit card information was compromised during the incident. The breach was reported to the Osaka Prefectural Police and Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission on October 21.

While all services remain accessible, Capcom advises users to remain vigilant against suspicious communications claiming to be from the company. The developer apologized for the incident and plans to establish a dedicated customer service channel to address concerns related to this data leak.
