Key information
Capcom has officially apologized following a security incident involving unauthorized third-party access to its CAPCOM ID online membership service. The company confirmed that 11,774,247 accounts were impacted by the breach.
The compromised data primarily consists of email addresses alongside system-specific details such as account creation dates, last login times, and client IP addresses. Additionally, 43 accounts suffered exposure of personal details including gender, country, nickname, and date of birth.
While 196 accounts experienced unauthorized password changes, Capcom stated that no customer-set passwords were leaked. The company has since reset these passwords and confirmed that no credit card information was involved in the incident.
Capcom identified the breach on October 19, 2026, and subsequently reported the matter to police and the Personal Information Protection Commission. Affected users are advised to remain vigilant against potential phishing attempts impersonating the company.
