Key information
Electronic Arts is reportedly developing a new entry in the Star Wars: Battlefront series. According to a report from Variety, the project is currently being handled by the company's DICE and Respawn studios.
While the publisher has not officially confirmed the title, EA stated it is bringing these two studios together to collaborate on a future project. The company claims this partnership aims to balance resources and leverage technology to deliver a shooter portfolio that drives growth.
The collaboration pairs Respawn, known for the Star Wars Jedi series, with DICE, which received an 82% score from reviewer Morgan Park for Battlefield 6. Park praised that title as one of the best shooters of the year, suggesting potential for the combined team.
This development follows significant internal changes at EA, including the closure of BioWare and the layoff of approximately 400 employees. The company is currently focusing its resources on shooters and sports titles as part of its next chapter.
