Apple is introducing a new App Store badge titled Made for iPhone Duo to identify applications specifically optimized for its new foldable device. This label highlights software designed to utilize the extra screen real estate provided by the hardware.

Optimized applications leverage the inner and outer displays in various ways. Netflix allows users to watch content on the full inner screen while viewing clips externally. Prime Video supports a partially folded mode, separating video playback from cast information. Additionally, Microsoft Word and Outlook provide desktop-class layouts, while Zoom enables simultaneous video conferencing and content sharing.

Despite these optimizations, Nilay Patel noted during testing that some apps, such as Instagram, still exhibit bugs. Other software currently supporting the device includes Paramount Plus, NYT Cooking, Yelp, Lyft, and United Airlines.

Apple plans to release editorial collections for the device this Friday, with further updates expected throughout the year. The iPhone Duo, priced at $1,999, also launches Friday with limited quantities available for walk-in customers.
