Steam Next Fest has returned with approximately 7,000 demos available for players to preview. This total represents nearly double the number of demos featured during the previous event held in July.

The influx of AI-generated content and vibe-coding has made the event feel overwhelming and less effective for discovering new titles. Critics argue that this trend threatens the visibility of handcrafted projects.

One title affected by these industry shifts is ReVamp, a tower defense game where players build a lair as Dracula. The game features mechanics reminiscent of Fallout Shelter, allowing users to customize environments and personally intervene against heroes.

Developer Digital Sun canceled the public demo for ReVamp, citing fears that the build would be scraped by AI models and cloned. The studio stated that reverse-engineering risks made a public release too dangerous while the game remains months from launch.
