CD PROJEKT RED released a significant free update, version 2.5, for Cyberpunk 2077 on October 22, 2026. This launch coincides with the Netflix premiere of the animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which is celebrated by a new trailer titled Broken Dreams.
The update introduces Clampdown, a side quest serving as a prequel to the anime, rewarding players with a five-piece gear set inspired by the character King. Additionally, players can access a new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, featuring music from the Edgerunners series.
Gameplay enhancements include the Double Trouble perk within the Willpower skill tree, enabling dual-wielding for power pistols and revolvers. Technical improvements feature support for DLSS 4.5, offering up to 6x frame generation and dynamic multi-frame generation capabilities.
The update is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with releases for Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store expected soon. Furthermore, cross-platform mod support via mod.io is now integrated, allowing users to browse and install mods directly from the game menu.
