On October 21, 2026, publisher Raw Fury released a showcase video for Cassette Beasts 2002, a new title currently in development by Bytten Studio. The game is slated for release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
As a sequel to the 2023 original, this open-world turn-based RPG retains the core mechanic of recording monsters called beasts onto cassette tapes to transform during combat. While the gameplay loop remains consistent, the title features an entirely new story and setting, making it accessible for newcomers to the series.
The game introduces 120 new beast species alongside returning creatures. Players can interact with 12 companions and utilize an Origin system that adjusts the protagonist's goals based on previous series experience. Additionally, a Rogue system allows opponents a low chance to awaken, altering their personality and elemental attributes.
Cassette Beasts 2002 supports cross-play functionality and includes a lobby system for online cooperative play and competitive battles with friends or global players.
