Durabook, a brand under Twinhead International Corporation, has unveiled its new R12 Rugged Tablet. This device is designed as an active edge AI platform, utilizing the Intel Core Ultra Series 3 CPU to provide enhanced multitasking and energy efficiency for professionals in defense, public safety, and industrial sectors.
The tablet offers significant AI computing capabilities, reaching up to 412 TOPS when combining its 180 TOPS of integrated performance with an optional 232 TOPS discrete GPU. This architecture allows for local data processing from sensors and cameras, supporting advanced inference and computer vision tasks even in environments with unreliable connectivity.
For demanding visual applications, the R12 includes an optional NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada graphics card. The device features a 12.2-inch DynaVue sunlight-readable display with 1,200 nits of brightness, housed in a compact chassis. It also supports a detachable backlit keyboard for versatile field use.
Durabook engineered the R12 for harsh conditions, meeting MIL-STD-810H, 6-foot drop, and IP66 standards. It is also certified for hazardous locations under ANSI/UL C1D2. The tablet includes a dual hot-swappable battery system providing up to 20 hours of life and is available for order now.
