The free Edgerunners 2 Update for Cyberpunk 2077 is now available, introducing content inspired by the second installment of the anime series that premiered on Netflix on October 20. This update adds a new quest involving the character Weak Kingsley, set within the Night City Prison, which serves as a prequel to the show.
Combat mechanics have been expanded with the introduction of dual wielding, allowing players to use a pistol or revolver in each hand. Additionally, the update features new customization options, including 40 cyberware styles via glamdocs, 20 new hairstyles, and various clothing sets. Players can also equip Weak Kingsley’s outfit and signature revolver, Coronation, or listen to the new HKGN 102.FM radio station.
The update integrates cross-platform mod support through mod.io, providing an in-game panel for browsing and installing community content. Further additions include 12 minor arcana tarot cards, historical tours narrated by Richard Night, and quality-of-life improvements such as stash filters and separate save libraries for different playthroughs.
Cyberpunk 2077 now supports XBOX Play Anywhere, enabling users to purchase the game once and play on both XBOX Series X|S and Windows PC with seamless save transfers. This functionality ensures progress carries over between platforms for players moving between devices.
