Developer Circle KEN has released a free demo for the strategy title WORJONG on Steam. This trial version introduces a new single-player story mode centered on a conflict between humans and tanuki over land development. The full game is scheduled for release on October 30.
WORJONG reimagines Japanese mahjong mechanics as a competitive English word game. Players utilize 26 letter tiles to form four three-letter words. A unique rule dictates that hands are not reset between rounds; instead, remaining tiles persist, influencing subsequent gameplay. The game includes a hint system to assist with word construction.
The newly revealed story mode spans a seven-day period where players navigate various locations to trigger events. This mode features exclusive mechanics, allowing players to cast tanuki spells to manipulate the board, such as blowing up tiles or pausing time.
The demo, which supports one to four-player online matches, will be available on dedicated servers until the end of October 2026. Players can access this trial version following its release on October 22, 2026.
