Developer team Pistachio School-Road Group announced that their action-adventure game White No Way will launch on December 1 on Steam and other platforms. The title, also known as Stay on the white lines, is priced at 600 yen in Japan and 4.99 USD internationally.
The game invites players to relive the childhood experience of walking along white lines on the way home from school. Players control a young boy's feet, moving them one step at a time to navigate paths while aiming to return home before a set curfew. If players spend too much time exploring and miss the deadline, they will be scolded by their mother.
Mechanics involve clicking and dragging to grab and place feet, requiring players to adjust their positioning based on obstacles and the shape of the white lines. Collecting treasures found along the route triggers shifts into imaginative worlds, such as deserts or volcanic landscapes, which alter the terrain and challenges. If a player steps off the line and falls, they can resume from just before the fall.
The eight-member development team formed during the GameGroveX2025 event hosted by Wakayama Prefecture. After winning the top prize at the GGX Games Showcase and appearing at BitSummit PUNCH, the team spent approximately one year refining the project for its upcoming release.
