On October 22, Capcom announced that unauthorized access to its online membership service, CAPCOM ID, resulted in the leak of certain customer information.

The compromised data includes email addresses and system-specific identification information. Additionally, some users had their birth dates, gender, country or region, and nicknames exposed. Furthermore, 196 accounts experienced unauthorized changes to their login passwords.

Capcom stated that the leaked passwords were not those set by the users themselves. For the 196 affected accounts, the company has already reset the passwords. While emergency measures are complete and services have been restored, the company continues to investigate the full scope of the impact.

The organization has reported the incident to the police and the Personal Information Protection Commission. Capcom is currently conducting a detailed review to determine the extent of the data breach.
