On October 20, 2026, AMD released the WHQL-certified driver "AMD Software Adrenalin Edition 26.10.1." This update expands support for the AI-based super-resolution technology, FSR Upscaling 4.1, to a broader range of hardware, including the Radeon RX 6000 series and specific integrated GPUs.
The update brings FSR Upscaling 4.1 to the Ryzen AI Max 400/300 series and RDNA-based Ryzen Mobile processors. While the Radeon RX 6000 series support arrived earlier than the previously anticipated January 2027 window, the inclusion of integrated GPUs was unexpected. These additions allow users to enjoy games at higher resolutions and improved image quality compared to the 1280x720 limit often encountered without such upscaling.
The driver also adds support for new titles, including "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4," "Star Wars: Galactic Racer," and "Final Fantasy Resonance." However, AMD has not claimed any specific performance improvements for these games.
Users should note that this release introduces several known issues, such as intermittent crashes or driver timeouts in titles like "Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced" and "War Thunder." AMD suggests temporary workarounds for many of these problems, such as disabling specific overlays or rolling back drivers. Users are advised to check the official website to identify the correct installer for their specific GPU generation.
