Deep Silver and KING Art Games have released a nine-minute overview trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV. This entry is described as the largest title in the franchise's history, featuring four playable factions, over 70 missions, and 30 multiplayer maps.
Players can command the Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and Adeptus Mechanicus, each offering unique units and tactical approaches. The game includes four campaigns with branching narrative choices and co-operative support. Additionally, the survival mode The Last Stand returns, allowing three players to defend against enemy waves using five distinct heroes.
Customization is a central focus, highlighted by an enhanced Painter tool that permits piece-by-piece coloring of armor and equipment. Beyond the campaign, users can engage in Skirmish modes against up to five AI opponents or compete in online multiplayer matches across various game types.
The title is scheduled for release on December 3, 2026, with a 3-Day Early Unlock available for Commander Edition owners starting November 30. Post-launch support includes a Year One roadmap featuring free updates, such as the Mission Editor and Crusade Mode, alongside two major story expansions that will add a new playable faction.
