The anime adaptation of the light novel series How I, a Witch, Was Asked to Make a Love Potion by My Crush, written by Eiko Mutsuhana, is currently streaming on Bahamut Anime Crazy. Directed by Keizo Kusakawa with series composition by Wataru Watari, the production is handled by studio diomedéa.
The story follows Rose, a reclusive witch living in a forest lake cabin, who harbors a secret crush on the elite knight Harij. Her life takes a bittersweet turn when Harij requests a love potion for someone else. To prolong their time together, Rose intentionally assigns him difficult, time-consuming tasks to gather ingredients.
As Harij frequently visits the cabin, he discovers Rose's disorganized living situation and begins caring for her. This dynamic creates a humorous, heartwarming daily routine. The series features detailed, soft-toned visuals and expressive character animation. Reviewers highlight the contrast between Rose's clumsy, expressive personality—brought to life by voice actress Mikako Komatsu—and Harij’s stoic yet kind-hearted knightly demeanor.
Beyond the central romance, the show incorporates fantasy elements, including various daily potions and comedic interludes. The narrative explores the evolving relationship between the two leads as the mystery behind Harij's original request gradually unfolds.
