Publisher Deep Silver and developer KING Art Games have released a comprehensive overview trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV. The real-time strategy title features four playable factions, including the Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the series-debuting Adeptus Mechanicus, each offering unique units and mechanics.
The game includes over 70 missions across four single-player campaigns, featuring branching choices and cooperative play. Beyond the campaign, players can engage in skirmishes against five AI opponents or compete on 30 multiplayer maps. The fan-favorite The Last Stand mode also returns, allowing three-player teams to defend against waves of enemies using one of five selectable heroes.
Customization is a core pillar, with a new painting tool allowing players to modify individual armor pieces and equipment with various colors, decals, and tactical gear. This marks the first time the series has offered such extensive creative freedom for army aesthetics.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV is scheduled for release on December 3, 2026. Commander Edition owners gain early access starting November 30, 2026. Both versions are currently available for pre-order with a 10% discount. Post-launch support includes free updates such as the Expedition mode, new maps, and a mission editor, alongside two major story expansions that will introduce an additional playable faction.
