CD Projekt Red has released the 2.5 update for Cyberpunk 2077, coinciding with the broadcast of the animation series Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2. This update introduces new quests, items, music, and customization options tied to the series.
A major addition is the dual-wielding perk within the Cool tree, allowing players to use power pistols and revolvers in both hands. While this enables rapid fire, it reduces individual weapon damage and ammo speed. At level 2, players unlock the 'Heywood Hurricane' action for fast melee attacks. Additionally, players can undertake the 'Suppression' quest from Wakako to earn Vic Kingsley’s gear.
The update expands customization with new clothing collections from brands like Maxiswear and Jinguji, alongside NPC-exclusive hairstyles. Players can now customize cyberware such as Gorilla Arms and Mantis Blades via five new 'GlamDoc' shops. Furthermore, 12 minor arcana tarot cards and associated quests have been added to Night City.
Cross-platform modding support via mod.io has been partially implemented for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. CD Projekt Red plans to support additional mods sequentially in the future.
