Electronic Arts has initiated a restructuring plan resulting in the termination of approximately 400 employees, representing roughly 3% of its total workforce. This decision follows an internal memo authored by executives David Tinson and Cam Weber, as reported by Bloomberg.

The layoffs have directly impacted several high-profile titles. Specifically, 50 positions were eliminated from a canceled Mass Effect project. Furthermore, the company has paused Project Lotus within The Sims franchise to reallocate resources toward Project Evergreen, with some reports characterizing the former as canceled. The studio Full Circle, responsible for skate., is also undergoing staff reductions to create a more focused team despite the game's performance since its September 2025 early access launch.

Despite these cuts, development continues on several other titles, including Apex Legends, the next Star Wars Jedi entry, and a new shooter from Respawn and DICE that Variety sources identify as Star Wars: Battlefront 3. Additionally, Motive's Iron Man project and a potential Fight Night revival remain active.

These organizational changes follow a $55 billion private buyout by Saudi Arabia's PIF, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners, which reportedly saddled the company with approximately $20 billion in debt. EA stated that these adjustments resulted from a months-long business review and plans to provide further project updates in the coming months.
