Key information

Blizzard has officially extended the beta testing period for World of Warcraft Forever. Originally scheduled to conclude on October 20, the test phase will now run until October 23 at 10am PT / 1pm ET.

The developer confirmed that name reservations for the upcoming title will open on October 27. Players will be permitted to secure names for up to three distinct characters, provided they adhere to established naming guidelines.

The beta has seen significant engagement, with over a million characters created since its September launch. Blizzard developers expressed surprise at the high volume of participants testing this Classic+ game mode.

Gameplay maintains a classic feel by omitting modern features like shared tagging, though it incorporates specific content such as the 'Kyle's Gone Missing' quest. Despite its popularity, the beta has faced challenges, including issues with gold selling, strict name enforcement, and player griefing tactics.

The full version of World of Warcraft Forever is scheduled for release on November 4. Access will require an active subscription or a temporary friend code, and all progress from the current beta will be wiped upon launch.
