CD Projekt Red has officially announced Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, a release timed to coincide with the second season of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix. The update aims to introduce various features and items inspired by the show's latest season.
The update includes a new quest that serves as a prequel to the second season of the anime. This mission will feature returning voice actors from the series, though the developer has provided few specific details regarding the gameplay content.
A significant addition is the introduction of official mod support for consoles. CD Projekt Red stated that this functionality will mirror the implementation seen in The Witcher 3 Remastered. Players will be able to access a curated list of mods directly through the game's main menu, with the studio collaborating with established modders to facilitate the launch.
Update 2.5 is scheduled to launch on October 22 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players on the Switch 2 platform will receive the update a few days after the initial release. Further details regarding additional upgrades remain undisclosed by the studio.
