The Pokémon Company has announced plans to establish its first permanent retail store outside of Asia in London. The facility is scheduled to open by 2029, though the specific site remains undisclosed.
The upcoming venue aims to provide community spaces and unique experiences for fans of all ages. Gaku Susai, the chief product and experience officer, stated that the store is intended to foster a sense of community and allow visitors to immerse themselves in the brand.
While the company has not yet assigned a name to the project, it notably avoided labeling the site a Pokémon Center. This initiative follows the closure of a previous New York location that operated from 2001 to 2005.
This expansion aligns with the brand's growing presence in the United Kingdom, where pop-up shops at the Pokémon European International Championships frequently experience high demand. The company intends for this London store to serve as the start of a broader global retail rollout.
