EA Sports has officially confirmed that the Fight Night boxing series is returning. The publisher shared the news alongside teaser art, addressing fans who have long awaited a revival of the combat-sports franchise.
The series originally launched in 2004 with Fight Night 2004, followed by multiple sequels released in 2005, 2006, and 2009. The most recent entry, Fight Night Champion, arrived in 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms.
Despite the announcement, EA Sports has not provided a release date or specific details regarding new gameplay features. The company currently maintains another combat-sports title, UFC 6, which was released in June of this year.
This revival follows the history of EA's boxing development, which previously included the Knockout Kings series that ran from 1998 to 2002. The announcement occurs following the acquisition of EA by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
