Nvidia has released driver version 621.01, which integrates Microsoft’s Advanced Shader Delivery technology. This update aims to accelerate game launch times and improve overall performance by addressing how shaders are processed.

The system functions by utilizing the Microsoft Agility SDK, Windows 11, and DirectX 12 to capture shaders into a State Object Database. Microsoft’s cloud network then precompiles these shaders for a vast array of hardware and driver configurations, effectively removing the need for mid-game just-in-time compilation.

According to Nvidia’s Andrew Burnes, this process eliminates CPU spikes and frame stutters in titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Gears of War: E-Day. The technology is storefront-agnostic, meaning users can benefit from these improvements on Steam provided the Xbox PC app is installed.

The 621.01 update is available for download now. Additionally, the feature is supported on Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 series hardware with driver version 2026.08.3 or higher, and on AMD GPUs using Adrenalin 26.6.1 or newer.
