Grand Theft Auto 6 has generated $600 million in pre-order revenue with one month remaining until its official release on current-generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Data from Sensor Tower indicates that 6.45 million copies have been sold so far.

PlayStation users account for 74% of these pre-orders, totaling 4.8 million copies, while Xbox users have purchased 1.66 million units. Analyst firm Newzoo projects the title could reach $5.2 billion in sales during its launch week.

Despite ongoing threats of leaks and progress by hackers in jailbreaking PlayStation 5 hardware, the game remains protected by its requirement for firmware 14.10. Furthermore, Sony recently disabled the Hypervisor tool, making it unlikely that the game will be pirated at launch.

Rockstar Games appears to be managing security more effectively than during the launch of GTA 5, which suffered from significant leaks including map details and full game uploads to torrent sites. Currently, only limited footage from an unfinished build has surfaced.
