The Esports Federation (EF) has officially unveiled the EWC 2027 Qualifier Program, an initiative designed to broaden the qualification pathways for the Esports World Cup 2027. This strategy aims to integrate existing esports tournaments and regional community events directly into the official EWC qualification structure.
The program introduces two distinct routes: EWC Direct Qualifiers and EWC Satellite Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQ). Direct Qualifiers allow established tournament organizers to host official EWC qualifiers while maintaining their own brand identity and commercial interests.
Satellite LCQs offer a new path for diverse partners, including universities, PC bangs, esports associations, and gaming festivals. Winners earn a spot in the EWC LCQ, with the EF providing necessary visa and accommodation support. This route initially covers four titles: Chess, Counter-Strike 2, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and Street Fighter 6, with more to follow.
Applications for the program are currently open on the official EWC website until December 20, 2026. Approved tournaments must conclude by June 1, 2027, and all events are required to adhere to both publisher requirements and EWC operational standards.
